On order of the Court, the certification by the Court of Appeals pursuant to Administrative Order 1984-2 that its decision in this case conflicts with its decision in Lawrence v Bay Osteopathic Hospital, Inc., 175 Mich App 61; 437 NW2d 296 (1989), Jordan v Sinai Hospital of Detroit, Inc., 171 Mich App 328; 429 NW2d 891 (1988), and the application for leave to appeal are considered. Leave to appeal is GRANTED, limited to the issue of whether the physician-patient privilege was violated when defense counsel conducted an ex parte interview with the injured plaintiff's treating physician.
Persons or groups interested in the determination of the questions presented in this case may move the Court for permission to file briefs amicus curiae.
